Welcome to the website for our
sailing and cruising
adventures. We created this website as a way to
keep in touch with our family and friends, sharing
our experiences along the way.
In the early 1990’s, we decided to retire early
and go cruising, as we believe that there are just
too many interesting places to see in the world.
We felt we just could not satisfy our curiosity on
2-week vacations here and there. Mike’s previous
experience of cruising in the Mediterranean for
two years only whetted his appetite. Extended
cruising would be for us.
With
this goal in mind, we plotted and planned for nine
years. Preparations included buying and upgrading
“the boat”, a move from our homeport of
Vancouver Canada to Portland OR, and a shakedown
by racing in the Pacific Cup to Hawaii. For
planning purposes, we committed to 10 years of
cruising. Our rough itinerary is based on the
places we really want to visit – Mexico and
Central America, South America, around Cape Horn,
up to the Caribbean, then across to the British
Isles and the Mediterranean. Of course, cruising
being what it is, this is entirely subject to
change!
We’ll keep this
website updated with our cruising logs and plans.
We would love to hear from you – comments,
questions and suggestions. Thank you for joining
us.
